Hey there! I wanted to share some photos with you that will give you a bit of a clue about the book. I looked at several stock photos and some were really good, but something was missing - the tree was not from North Carolina. This tree is in our county and seemed to be a good spot to attempt to get an image on my own. I mean after all, this is a book about the story of four women from our great state and their journey. So I found these four keys that I have had for years, not even sure where they came from, but they remind me of the skeleton keys that my grandmother used to have at her house. I bet some of you may recall these old keys. So the hint, well there is one common key these four women have in life. Hello Y'all! It's fall! October flew by! Here is an update that I want to share with you. So my deadline for final edits by me is October 30th. But, I have been working really hard every night and most of my Saturday evenings on finishing it up. I hit the send button last night at 6:45, sitting in the porch rocker where the book began over a year and a half ago. Whew! Here is the fun moment I want to share with you - because you cannot make this stuff up no matter how hard you try. I play around with mentioning several things that would have been important to each one of our lovely ladies in this hometown southern novel. One of those mentions happens to be The Partridge Family. One character in the novel had a crush on David Cassidy and loved the show. Not long after pressing send on the email, "I think I love You" by The Partridge Family played on my sirius xm radio. WOW. I have always wanted to write a book. However, through the years while some of my time included reading several novels, I had very little time to invest in writing. We had a family to raise, and I worked, so finding time to sit at the laptop and let my imagination create a world was very limited. I also have an incredible addiction to crafting and painting, which kept my spare time occupied. Then enter the world with covid. Not everything has been a negative during the last year and a half. Some good things are evidence of the restrictions placed on us during this time. As I read post after post on social media about cancelled cruises, concerts cancelled, I let my mind wonder to what would happen if we did have a girl’s weekend at the beach, a weekend to attend a concert, what if the world was not shut down and we could go and do as we pleased.
