Well, we are finally at publishing stage! Whew! Stay tuned for news as Paul Harvey used to say. It's almost time to have a copy of the book in your hands.   Can I share a little bit more about this novel?  I cannot give away any pertinent details but maybe I can give you some insight as to what you can expect.  In all the books I have read by many authors, some I stayed up to finish until midnight, others I put down after the first chapter. The novels that have ranked up on the higher side of the scale for me had one quality in common. They allowed me to get into the characters’ lives, fully invested in the mundane as equally the spectacular. With my first published novel, I wanted to bring you a tapestry of closely bonded friends. Their lives are changed by a pivotal event, one action by one person and it changes the trajectory of their lives forever. This is an allegorical sort of novel with a front story and a hidden message in the background. It is not littered; you will not f

Hello and welcome to the "fall back" weekend!  Enjoy that extra hour, but I admit I am not going to like the dark at 5:00.  Here again with the traveling keys - with a hint from the book.  One of the ladies in this southern chick literature novel has a favorite BBQ spot.  Who can blame her?  It's a family favorite for us too! More work is being done on the cover this week and the editor continues to keep me updated.  The process at this point is at a snail's pace and that can be a bit frustrating after a year and a half of writing.   Stay tuned, next week we will have another local spot the ladies visit to share.  The places they go and the things they do - I think you will enjoy the journey too!

Hey there!  I wanted to share some photos with you that will give you a bit of a clue about the book.  I looked at several stock photos and some were really good, but something was missing - the tree was not from North Carolina.  This tree is in our county and seemed to be a good spot to attempt to get an image on my own. I mean after all, this is a book about the story of four women from our great state and their journey.  So I found these four keys that I have had for years, not even sure where they came from, but they remind me of the skeleton keys that my grandmother used to have at her house.  I bet some of you may recall these old keys.   So the hint, well there is one common key these four women have in life.  As a matter of fact, it surprised them to learn that they held the keys to unlock futures they never knew existed.  That is all for now - don't want to spoil your reading fun when the book comes out.  But can you see the significance of the purple ribbon?  Take a look
Hello Y'all! It's fall!  October flew by!  Here is an update that I want to share with you.   So my deadline for final edits by me is October 30th.  But, I have been working really hard every night and most of my Saturday evenings on finishing it up.  I hit the send button last night at 6:45, sitting in the porch rocker where the book began over a year and a half ago.  Whew!   Here is the fun moment I want to share with you - because you cannot make this stuff up no matter how hard you try.  I play around with mentioning several things that would have been important to each one of our lovely ladies in this hometown southern novel.   One of those mentions happens to be The Partridge Family.  One character in the novel had a crush on David Cassidy and loved the show. Not long after pressing send on the email, "I think I love You" by The Partridge Family played on my sirius xm radio.  WOW.  I mean really? How often do you hear that song?  In this novel, the pages of thei
I have always wanted to write a book. However, through the years while some of my time included reading several novels, I had very little time to invest in writing. We had a family to raise, and I worked, so finding time to sit at the laptop and let my imagination create a world was very limited. I also have an incredible addiction to crafting and painting, which kept my spare time occupied.  Then enter the world with covid. Not everything has been a negative during the last year and a half. Some good things are evidence of the restrictions placed on us during this time. As I read post after post on social media about cancelled cruises, concerts cancelled, I let my mind wonder to what would happen if we did have a girl’s weekend at the beach, a weekend to attend a concert, what if the world was not shut down and we could go and do as we pleased.  What were we missing out on and what were we putting in the space to fill our lives? I read posts on friends learning a new hobby, baking bre
